Big Event at Claudia's tomorrow.

Hey everyone. Claudia is hosting an event tomorrow with information seminars from Wagrs members Jim S., and Steve S., as well as from Mark Horowitz of Garden Railways magazine. The fun starts at 9:00 a.m.

Debut of the M&M Railroad at Wichita Show







Manfred and Millie debuted their new portable layout with trestle at the Wichita Train show two weeks ago. It was a very popular layout and many of the WAGRS member got to run some of the RCS powered trains. Thanks Manfred and Millie for all your hard work on this layout. We hope we see it up again at future shows, including maybe the Heart of America show this summer.






The next big WAGRS event will be at Claudia's on the 28th when Mark Horowitz from Garden Railways magazine will be speaking and Jim C. and Steve S. will also be making presentations. We hope to see everyone there.

Pics wanted

Did anyone take any pics of the train show last weekend, especially of Fred and Millies new layout? I would love to post them on the blog. Let me know.

It seems the weather is turning cold again. We were just teased a little last weekend with weather warm enough for us to put the top down on the convertible and think spring just might be coming. Everyone should be getting ready to clean up their layouts and get ready for Spring and Summer. If you think about it, take some pics and let me know what you do to get ready for Spring and Summer. I'll do a post highlighting your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions.

Train show this weekend.

Hey everyone! It was good seeing the group at Jim's this past Saturday. We enjoyed great food, awesome sweet tea, and a productive meeting. The most immediate item is this Saturday at the Cessna Center where Fred and Millie will be christening their new portable layout. This should be alot of fun. Claudia will also have a vendor booth set up. We hope to see everyone there.

Open House time.

Open House time.
Every Year, the club hosts an open house for folks to come see the gardens at their best. Our members love to show off our trains and gardens. Many gardens feature miniature worlds with buildings and people. Others focus on the natural aspect of "trains through a garden".

This train is a Shay loco at the blog hosts garden railroad. We hosted an open house on July 4, 2008 where this was taken. Garden Railroaders love to take pics of these trains and fool folks who actually think they are real trains.

My son is the third generation of train fans in our family. His grandfather was a live steamer in Golden, Colorado. My husband is the "trackmaster" of our Kansas Central and Colorado Railroad. Our son knows more about trains than any other 7 year old I know.
